(This was written out of sheer boredom and my love for nature. Till this day, it is one of my best and favourite poems.)
Crestfallen youth, escape from the urban rush
Run away with me to the woods of ageless hours
Child of the universe
Touch the sky with your palm
Feel the rain on your cheeks
Feel the ground beneath your feet shudder in delirium
Feel the sand between your toes
Feel the song of nature enthrall and captivate you
Engulf yourself in the rhythm of the wind
And let your mind embark on a journey through time and space
Drift away a trickling stream
On a maple leave of gold
Swim through the cascaded fronds
Gossip with the fledglings
And whisper with the birch and pine
Run forever through the evergreen coppice
Before you return to reality, promise me
You’ll come back to nature
Sometime again.
